Pooja, Blessings, and an All-Women Grinding Team

Pooja, Blessings, and an All-Women Grinding Team
Pooja at site before we ship the turmeric

Before the first batch of our dried turmeric made its journey from the hills of Atale to the grinding shop, we gathered together for a traditional pooja ceremony — seeking blessings for the harvest and for everyone who will receive this golden spice.

Blessings Before the Journey

On the morning of 29th March 2026, the village elders and Graminno team gathered at our turmeric drying site in Atale. The bags of sun-dried turmeric were adorned with fresh flowers — marigolds and frangipani — along with a coconut and traditional offerings. It is a custom we hold dear: every significant step in our work begins with gratitude.

The ceremony was simple and heartfelt — a moment to pause and acknowledge the months of effort that went into growing, harvesting, boiling, and drying this turmeric. From planting during the monsoon to this moment, it has been a labour of love by the farming families of Atale.

The Grinding Shop — Run by an All-Women Team

After the blessings, the dried turmeric fingers were transported to the grinding shop. What makes this step especially meaningful is that the grinding operation is run entirely by an all-women team. These women operate the industrial grinding machines with skill and care, transforming the hard, dried turmeric fingers into the fine, aromatic golden powder that reaches your kitchen.
